So, New Years was a successful blast and a great way to start the new decade. After my mid-life (quarter century) crisis, things are starting to look great. I’m finally starting to keep busy freelancing and having actual work busy days than sit around looking for work days (self promotion is a hard deal). I have a great team mate for life at my side and couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

Our New Years Eve night started with a lovely fancy brick oven pizza dinner at Vino in the Piazza with a few of our friends. After a glass of wine and a low key jazz band, we headed across the street to one of our favorites, El Camino Real for 4 pitchers of margaritas and the company of a couple more friends. After getting tipsy on tequila, we headed back to the den to do shots (good idea? bad idea? didn’t matter..) before we went dancing at The Barbary for Making Time. Once we arrived, we found out all our friends couldn’t get in (which was a bummer) so they went off to PYT while Elizabeth and I stayed. We get in and it was packed as usual. They opened up the 2nd and 3rd floor for the first time and it was okay. We only got to see the 2nd floor, and weren’t quite brave enough to hit the 3rd. We danced and danced until midnight, getting pushed around like you were stuck in the ocean and no matter how much you waved your arms or kicked your feet, you couldn’t move from wherever the waves were taking you… but we were okay with that. As long as we held each other, we didn’t want to be anywhere else. Midnight hit and everyone was screaming. It was very memorable. It started to get really crazy, so we detoured outside and found that our friends were picked up by the owner of PYT and taken on a party bus to the Penthouse Club where the “real” party was.. so we drove to meet them. Valet parking, red carpet walkup, jacket check-in… was the classiest part of the night if you ask me. Our friends were quite excited we joined them and we were quite happy to have found them. We spent the next hour 1/2 making it rain with our 1s and decided to try and hit the Making Time after party. That was a fail.. I was too tired.. So we went to my house and passed out.

It was quite the magical evening and I will always remember it. I can’t wait for the years to come and hope that they get better as they go on. Thank you to all my friends and new friends that i’ve met this year, you have made an amazing year for me. I am so glad we all met and have gotten so close so fast.

And of course, thank you to the lovely and wonderful Elizabeth Marley for giving me one of the best years of my life so far. I will always love you and be there for you in years to come. And I know you’ll be there for me.
